My expectation is that using mobile 3G/4G will probably be OK for softcore, albeit perhaps a bit annoying at times, and probably not recommended at all for hardcore. I haven't looked into it in a while, but I know that not long ago (2 years ago, maybe), wireless data latency was still a pretty major issue for gaming.
